Alum

Description

To achieve bright colors when using natural dyes, you’ll need to mordant your wool, cotton or silk beforehand. With the exception Indigo, most natural dyes do not adhere very well to the fibres and need the help of a mordant such as Alum.

Chemical name – Potassium Aluminium Sulphate

Your product will be shipped inside a strong re-sealable grip seal bag with the contents labeled.

Safety

Alum can be irritating, so always wear good quality protective gloves before handling and weighing out what you require for your dye project. Keep Alum away from children, pets and food preparation areas. Exercise common sense when handling chemicals to make sure you stay safe on your dye project.
